Barcelona R Ranch offers halter, bozal, bit and show training for Peruvian Horses at our 10-acre ranch in Webster, Florida.
Our trainer, Luis Vigo Saucedo, has spent 15 years working with Peruvian Horses in Peru, Ecuador and the United States. Every horse is different, so Luis takes the time to understand where each one is in its training and what the owner hopes to accomplish.
We accept horses from throughout Florida and other states when space is available.
Ranch visits are available by appointment.
A Love for the Peruvian Horse That Goes Back to 1980
Barcelona R Ranch has been involved with Peruvian Horses since 1980 through breeding, training, showing, sales, judging and consulting.
Over the years, we have watched the breed grow, competed at the national level, raised our own horses and built relationships with Peruvian Horse owners in the United States and abroad.
Today, Angel Ribó’s decades of breed knowledge are joined by the hands-on training experience of Luis Vigo Saucedo. Together, they bring a deep understanding of the Peruvian Horse—from bloodlines and breeding decisions to training and show presentation.

Our Training Program
Peruvian Horse Training in Central Florida
No two horses begin in exactly the same place. Some come to us as young horses learning to lead and handle. Others are ready to begin bozal, move into bit or prepare for the show ring.
Luis considers the horse’s age, experience, temperament and future purpose before deciding how to move forward.
Barcelona R Ranch primarily trains Peruvian Horses. Paso Finos may be considered with prior approval.
Bozal Training
Luis works on communication, balance and responsiveness while giving each horse the time it needs to understand the work.
Bit Training
As the horse progresses into bit, training becomes more refined and is shaped around the horse’s ability and intended use.
Show Preparation
Horses are conditioned and prepared for competition. Luis can also present client horses when arrangements are made in advance.

Gentle, Persistent Persuasion
Luis believes in being patient with the horse while staying consistent about what is being asked. The idea is to teach the right habits from the beginning and avoid creating confusion that will have to be corrected later.
Training is never rushed simply to meet a schedule. The horse’s age, past handling, temperament and physical development all help determine how the work moves forward.

Luis has spent 15 years training Peruvian Horses, including years working with horses in Peru and Ecuador.
He specializes in halter, bozal, bit and show training. Luis also competes and presents horses for clients when arrangements are made in advance.
Luis pays close attention to how each horse responds. He understands that the same approach will not work for every horse, so training is adjusted to the horse’s age, experience, temperament and future purpose.

Our Sumter County location gives Peruvian Horse owners a convenient Central Florida option for training, breeding and sales. We serve owners from Webster, Bushnell, Center Hill, Lake Panasoffkee, Wildwood, The Villages, Ocala and communities throughout the state.
We also accept horses transported from other parts of Florida and the Southeast when space is available.

01 What breeds does Barcelona R Ranch train?
We primarily train Peruvian Horses. Paso Finos may be considered with prior approval. We do not offer general all-breed horse training.
02 What kinds of training do you offer?
We offer halter, bozal, bit and show training. The right starting point depends on the horse’s age, experience and future goals.
03 Do you accept young or unstarted horses?
Yes. We accept young and unstarted horses for halter and foundational training. Horses of any age may be considered after we learn more about them.
04 Do you accept horses with behavioral problems?
Possibly. Corrective or behavioral training is considered individually. Luis will need to understand the horse’s history and behavior before deciding whether we can help.
05 Can Luis prepare and show my horse?
Yes. Luis prepares Peruvian Horses for competition and may show client horses when arrangements are made in advance.
06 Will I receive updates during training?
Yes. We provide photos, videos and progress updates. Owners may also visit their horses by appointment.
07 Do you accept horses from outside Central Florida?
Yes. We accept approved horses from throughout Florida and other states when space is available. Transportation arrangements are handled separately.
08 Do you have Peruvian Horses for sale?
Yes. We may have young horses, show prospects, breeding prospects and horses in training available. We can also help buyers locate a suitable Peruvian Horse.
09 Is B.R. Preferido available to outside mares?
Yes. B.R. Preferido is standing at stud, and outside mares may be considered by arrangement. Contact us for current breeding information.
10 Is Barcelona R Ranch involved with NAPHA?
Yes. Barcelona R Ranch is involved with the North American Peruvian Horse Association and the Southern States Peruvian Horse Club. Our Peruvian Horses are registered with NAPHA.
